The conductive fools gold tricked me into thinking I had a possible specimen of Michigan Gold. It was from the collection of Dr. E. Sensel (#B971), who acquired it from Julies and Oscar Gisler at Southwest Scientific Company on 12/20/1965 for $8.50. The specimen was acquired for St. Francis Xavier School to replace a similar size and quality specimen from their Science Lab that was destroyed in a nighttime vandal attack. I wish I could have kept it, but it will now be seen by many more children, and might inspire some of them. Ex. collection of John Sinkankas, which was a most interesting label. The specimen was originally identified as Pyromorphite (JS-PYM-3) and changed to Vanadinite (JS-VA-4). The specimen was purchased from LYKO, El Paso 7/19/62 for $4, was valued at $8, which was changed to $15 when it was renamed; the date appears to have been changed from 6/11 to 7/19. It was described as dark brown endlichite coating limestone, brilliant minute to 1/4" long doubly tapered hexagonal prisms of silvery pale brown forming rosette clusters.
