Silver Ore Formula /Images/picture.jpg Silver Cliff Mine, Coleman Township, Cobalt area, Cobalt-Gowganda region, Timiskaming District, Ontario, Canada Collected 1981, acquired 2026 Matrix Calcite, Safflorite From the collection of Tony Nickischer (Excalibur Minerals).
Silver Ore- Silver Cliff Mine, Cobalt, Ontario, Canada
> Some ugly ore samples from a locality closed in the early 1950s, the Silver Cliff Mine sported just a handful of species that included native silver, pyrargyrite, safflorite etc that produced over half a million ounces of silver during its short lifetime. While some of these minerals mat be present in these mine-run samples, we promise only dark greyish matrix with veins of calcite, tiny pyrite, chalcopyrite and likely safllorite when viewed under the 'scope. Collected off the dumps in 1981, these samples might show more when broken down and viewed under magnification, hence the inexpensive offer of 3cm to 8cm specimens.

Ailsa Craig Granite Drink Cube Formula Ailsa Craig, South Ayrshire, Scotland, UK acquired 2026 Matrix Secondary Mineral(s) Acquired from Kays Curling. This giftware has been hand crafted in Scotland using the same type of granite that makes up the curling stones used in Milano Cortina 2026. NOTE: THIS GIFTWARE HAS NOT BEEN MADE FROM THE ACTUAL STONES USED AT MILANO CORTINA 2026. The granite is approximately 60 million years old and is sourced from the remote Scottish island, Ailsa Craig located 10 miles off the Ayrshire coast.
Island is built mainly of arfvedsonite-aegirine microgranite, which is intruded by basic dikes. The island is famous for production of curling stones because microgranites are particularly tough and take a high polish. The stones were produced and exported from the quarry during 1890s, then closed and reopened in 1961. It proved to be uneconomic and closed again in 1973. Material is now taken occasionally to fulfil orders.
Two Milano Cortina 2026 Granite Coasters and Four Drink Chill Cubes (Not made with the Olympic Curling Stones); half the order was donated to the Grand Rapids Public Museum.

Becquerelite Formula /Images/picture.jpg Mi Vida Mine, Lisbon Valley Mining District, San Juan County, Utah acquired 2026 Matrix not identified Bayleyite, other Secondary Mineral(s) not identiofied From the collection of Tony Nickischer (Excalibur Minerals).
BECQUERELITE w/ BAILEYITE- Mi Vida Mine, San Juan Co., Utah
Lightly scattered bright yellow druses of this moderately hot mineral on matrix. The locality was made famous by Charlie Steen in the early 1950s uranium boom. An excellent set of articles were written by the late Bob Werner and published in Mineral News in 2015 (Vol. 31 Nos. 10 and 11) about Steen and the mad uranium rush of the day in Utah and the Mi Vida Mine. The specimen is fairly hot, and the purported becquerelite (not analyzed by us) occurs as yellow crusts scattered on matrix with fluorescent bayleite and several unknowns, the piece measuring about 7x5x3 cm. One only!

Mindat documents Becquerelite in the Lisbon Valley Mining District, but not from Mi Vida Mine. Label on specimen says Yel Flro EDS.

Turanite Formula /Images/picture.jpg The Fish, Gibellini Mining District, Eureka County, Nevada acquired 2026 Matrix Secondary Mineral(s) From the collection of Tony Nickischer (Excalibur Minerals).
TURANITE- The Fish, Eureka Co., Nevada
Minute yellow-green platy aggregates and crusts of turanite sparsely scattered over rock matrix, some occasionally with minor volborthite. Interesting and rarely offered, some with mediocre micro potential, matrix sizes from 2cm to 6cm.

Mindat documents Turanite in Eureka County, in the Gibellini Mining District with a question mark, and not from The Fish.

Diamond Formula /Images/picture.jpg Sao Luis river alluvials, Juína, Mato Grosso, Brazil acquired 2026 Matrix possible jeffbenite, breyerite and/or deltanitrogen From the collection of Tony Nickischer (Excalibur Minerals).
DIAMOND- San Luis River, Juina, Mato Grosso, Brazil
The Sao Luis river alluvial placers produced diamonds with submicroscopic inclusions of three new minerals: jeffbenite, breyerite and deltanitrogen. All have been IMA-approved but are virtually impossible to confirm with sophisticated analytical techniques beyond our capabilities. We secured over a dozen included diamonds from this alluvial deposit, and all show inclusions at 20x or more, but we can only offer them as "just super-deep diamonds" as potential hosts for all (or none) of the new species. Colors range from colorless to slightly yellowish, weighing from 0.10 carats to over 0.60 carats. List alternates!

Westerveldite Formula Ilimaussaq complex, Kujalleq, Greenland Collected 1977, acquired 2026 Matrix Secondary Mineral(s) From the collection of Tony Nickischer (Excalibur Minerals). From the collection of the Copenhagen University Mineral Museum.
WESTERVELDITE- Ilimaussaq, Kujalleq, Greenland
This uncommon mineral occurs here as small greyish black metallic grains sparsely scattered in rock matrix, from one of the few well known localities for the species. These were originally obtained in the late 1970's via exchange with Ole Petersen at the Copenhagen University mineral museum, specimens ranging in size from about 1.5cm, with a few larger to 5cm, all with copies of two exchange labels.

Tiemannite Formula /Images/picture.jpg Deer Trail Mine, Mount Baldy-Ohio Mining District, Piute County, Utah acquired 2026 Sandstone Calcite From the collection of Tony Nickischer (Excalibur Minerals).
TIEMANNITE- Deer Trail Mine, nr. Marysvale, Utah
This unusual mercury-selenide occus as greyish to black metallic masses sparsely scattered on calcite in pale greyish rock matrix, occasionally with other unidentified and included phases. Old material from this prolific Piute County area; sizes from 1.5cm to 5cm, depending on size and coverage.

Mindat documents Tiemannite in the Mount Baldy-Ohio Mining District, but not at the Deer Trail Mine.

Wermlandite Formula /Images/picture.jpg 220 m Level, Langban Mine, Langban Ore District, Filipstad, Varmland County, Sweden When Collected Calcite Secondary Mineral unidentified From the collection of Tony Nickischer (Excalibur Minerals).
WERMLANDITE- 220 m Level, Langban, Varmland, Sweden
Several exposed vugs in massive white calcite show tiny, greyish-green platelets of wermlandite crystals scattered about. From the type locality, it is unusual to have precise mine level data on Langban material, and these are available as small fragments in a vial, TNs, and a few slightly larger matrix specimens.

This is a Type Locality specimen for Wermlandite.

Erythrosiderite Formula /Images/picture.jpg Kopeysk, Chelyabinsk Oblast, Russia Collected before 2001, acquired 2026 Matrix Secondary Mineral(s) From the collection of Tony Nickischer (Excalibur Minerals). From the collection of Forrest "Boots" Cureton.
ERYTHROSIDERITE- Kopeysk, Chelyabinsk Oblast, Urals, Russia
Deep orange to reddish crusty aggregates of this rare mineral scattered on matrix or as small amounts of relatively pure masses in a glass vial. Old Cureton stock from 2001, horrible stuff that eats your white cardboard boxes, small masses in 3cm glass vials; matrix samples from about 1cm to 2cm.

Chapmanite Formula Smilkov, Benešov District, Central Bohemian Region, Czech Republic acquired 2026 Matrix Secondary Mineral(s) From the collection of Tony Nickischer (Excalibur Minerals).
CHAPMANITE- Smilkov, nr. Votice, Bohemia, Czech Republic
Light olive to yellow green films of chapmanite richly coating one surface of the matrix from this famous locality but small. Perhaps its only claim to mineralogical fame, this small village of about 300 inhabitants lies due south of Prague and was widely collected by Czech geologists and mineralogists. Specimen size is a generous but thin 6x4cm, with Czech National Museum label! One only.

Specimen was numbered 724 with a cloth tape label.
